How to Get Started

1. Carefully review everything on this page.
2. Direct sunlight is required for solar panels (PV).
3. Conduct basic research at www.solarpowergetics.info. Download the pdf files under Renewable Energy Topics for a basic introduction about renewable energy.
4. Determine how the solar panels (PV) will be mounted. A sun-tracker pole increases the efficiency of solar panels and reduces battery load.
5. For independent, off-the-grid systems, standard power use, select Gemini Solar System 48V, choose between Outback® FX or VFX Inverters.
6. For smaller, independent, off-the-grid systems, select Lunar Space Station 12V or 24V systems, appropriate for cabin and remote locations.
7. At this juncture, consider other power sources to the inverter such as a wind turbine and gas generator.
8. Now, determine the battery requirements, especially for off-the-grid systems.
