This is a small solar panel. Do not connect to the grid. It will supply power for a small device. Completely off-the-grid, it will supply electricity as long as there are enough ampere-hours to adequately supply a steady stream of electricity for the device(s).

How to Get Started

1. Carefully review everything on this page.
2. Direct sunlight is required for solar panels (PV).
3. Conduct basic research at www.solarpowergetics.info. Download the pdf files under Renewable Energy Topics for a basic introduction about renewable energy.
4. Determine how the solar panels (PV) will be mounted. A sun-tracker pole increases the efficiency of solar panels and reduces battery load.

Options & Accessories

Purchase a 12 VDC solar charge controller to regulate power for a small DC-powered device.

For connecting a small AC-powered device, purchase a 12 VDC solar inverter to AC for connection to the controller. Plug the small AC-powered device to the inverter.

To operate a small device at night, purchase a 12V battery. Connect to the controller. If you require power when there is no sunlight, purchase a battery with enough ampere-hours to adequately supply a steady stream of electricity for the device(s) over an estimated period of time.

A sun-tracker on top of the pole increases solar panel peak performance 25 – 35%.
